How we check prices
Ellemen compares retailer data. It does not hold stock, and it does not invent a price.
-
Connect
An editor saves an API key for Amazon, eBay, Impact, CJ, or Awin.
-
Import
A keyword or product URL returns the image, price, and tracked link.
-
Reconcile
The exit adds a click id. Orders come back from the network and match that id.
A price on Ellemen is a snapshot from a retailer or an affiliate network, not a quote we control.
The sources
- Amazon, through the Product Advertising API, when an access key, secret, and partner tag are saved.
- eBay, through the Browse API, with an EPN campaign id added to the exit.
- Impact catalogs, searched with an Account SID and token. The click carries subId1.
- CJ product search, with an optional deep-link prefix. The click carries sid.
- Awin, from a product feed URL plus the promotions and transactions APIs. The click carries clickref.
What we do not do
We do not invent a rating. If stars appear, they are the shopper rating returned by that merchant and the merchant is named. An Ellemen score, when an editor sets one, is a separate 10-point judgment and is not marked up as those stars.
We do not count a link preview or an empty browser as a person. The “people opened this offer” line is the click log.
Where do product facts come from?
Title, image, price, and availability come from a connected retailer API or product feed: Amazon Product Advertising API, eBay Browse API, Impact catalog, CJ product search, or an Awin feed. An offer can also be entered by hand or submitted by a visitor and checked before it is published.
Do you test every product?
No. This is a savings and affiliate site, not a lab. A score, when one is shown, is a separate 10-point note and is not the shopper star rating quoted from the merchant.
What does the orange button do?
It opens the retailer’s tracked link in a new tab. Ellemen never asks for a card number. Checkout, returns, and shipping are handled by that retailer.
